Itinerary

Day 1ARRIVE MANDALAY AND SIGHTSEEING -/-/-

Arrive at Mandalay airport.
Meet your professional guide at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Tour starts to Inwa (Ava), and here you’ll be taken by a native horse cart for sightseeing around Inwa that would last hardly 1 hour.
Visit will be made to Bagaya Monastery that is a fine example of Myanmar masonry art and architecture, Mainu Brick Monastery and oldwatchtower.
Then, drive to Sagaing, considered by Myanmar Buddhists to be the holiest site in the country and visit Sagaing Hill.
Return to Mandalay and to end the day with panoramic views of the city and a spectacular sunset at Mandalay Hill.
Transfer to your hotel.

Day 2MANDALAY – HSIBAW B/-/-

After the breakfast, drive to Hsibaw (~5hr).
On the way, visit Bawgyo Pagoda which is a Shan-style Paya (Ceti) from the 12th century. It is ancient monument reputed to be more than 2000 years old. Legend has it that a celestial being gave the 11th century King Nara Pati Sithu of the Bagan Dynasty a piece of wood out of which he carved four Buddha images.
When you arrive to Hsibaw, transfer to your hotel.
Take a rest well.

Day 3HSIBAW TREKKING B/L/D

After the breakfast, you will be met by local guide.
Walk through Hsipaw, rice paddies, multi-denominational cemeteries and along a stream hosting a number of improvised power plants on a flat terrain for about 2 hours.
Next 3-4 hours is a steady climb on a rocky road among the beautiful mountainous landscape, seasonal crops, Shan villages and a tea plantation.
The climb is not too steep, as the villagers are able to go up and down on their motorbikes.
Eat lunch in the village and learn about traditional lifestyle of Palaung Hill Tribe (Mon Kamer) whose women still wear their traditional costumes.
Take a walk for sightseeing around village and through tea plantations.
Meet villagers in the evening and try to understand their conversation with the help of local trekking guide.
Eat dinner with the Palaung family and spend the night in their traditional home.

Overnight at the village in Hsibaw.

Day 4HSIBAW TREKKING - MANDALAY B/-/-

After the breakfast, trek down to Hsibaw.
Take a short rest at your hotel.
Drive back to Mandalay.

Day 5DEPARUTRE B/-/-

After breakfast at the hotel, an awaiting car will take you to the airport for your international flight.
