What to Expect

Beginning from Mahabandoola Park and visit Former Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, Yangon City Hall which was the first large-scale masonry building to combine European design and engineering technology with traditional Myanmar flourishes, Headquartered of Aya Bank that was Yoe  Department store, Immanuel Baptist Church that is one of the oldest church, Yangon Region Court which is the highest court in Yangon. You take trishaw and visit Former American Embassy that was Armenian trade company of Balthazar & Son, Bronze Division and Land Records Department whose Armenian Trader Mr.Balthazer’s office and Yangon Stock Exchange. Go to the bank street and visit New Supreme Court -corporate office, Pension Department and West court; built in 1900 and central bank building, Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank, Inland Water Transport. Then, down to the Pansodan street and turn left when you arrive to Strand road and visit Myanmar National Airlines building, The Strand Hotel Yangon; was owned by two business Armenian brothers in 1901 and long term building, British Embassy which was J & F Graham company in 1900, Central Post Office that was Scottish Bulloch Bros & Co in 1900.

A refreshment section of tea or coffee with local delicacy at tea shop will be served during the break.

Stroll around the Bo Aung Kyaw street and when you reach the Merchant road, turn left and visit Armenian Apostolic Church of Yangon, passing through the road and visit Gandhi Hall that was Rangoon times Newspaper office and built in 1911. Go straight in the Merchant road and visit Myanmar Translation Society after the 38th street. And, turn left and visit Lawkanat Building that was the building for popular business works in the Pansodan street, Internal Revenue Department, Embassy of India. Moreover, up to the Pansodan street, turn left and visit Telephone and telegraph office that was very useful for connecting the abroad. Go to the upper Bo Aung Kyaw Street again and visit Secretariat Office or The Ministers’ Building that was the home and administrative seat of British Burma, in downtown Yangon, Burma and is the spot where Aung San and six cabinet ministers were assassinated, Saint Mary’s Cathedral whose the exterior, of red brick, consists of spires and a bell tower. It was designed by Dutch architect Joseph Cuypers, son of Pierre Cuypers. Proceed to Bogyoke Road and turn right when you arrive to Thein Phyu Road. then, turn right again when you reach to Anawrahta road and go straight toward the Sule Pagoda road. Turn left and visit The Central Fire Station. And then, turn around the Sule Pagoda and the tour ends in front of the Mahabandoola Park.
