Itinerary

Day 1ARRIVAL YANGON AND YANGON - SITTWE (BY CAR)

Arrival Yangon by international flight.
Meeting with your professional guide and assistance on arrival and transfer to the domestic airport.
Upon arrival, you are welcomed by your local Tour Guide and transferred to your hotel.
Then visit the ancient Mahakuthala monastery decorated with 99 windows.
Visit Thet Kya Muni Temple which is a huge sitting Buddha Image, one of the highlights of seaport town.
Enjoy the sunset at View point.

Overnight at hotel in Sittwe.

Day 2SITTWE – MRAUK U (BY FLIGHT)

After breakfast at the hotel, an awaiting car will transfer you to the jetty to go to Mrauk U.

Mrauk U, the last Royal capital of Rakhine ( Arakan ) Kingdoms, founded by King Mong Saw Mon in 1430 forty eight kings ruled over Mrauk-U Kingdom for 354 years. The splendid Mrauk U Kingdom left many historical heritage of the prominent Buddhist religion monuments exit all the corners of villages, hilltops that makes the second richest archeological site in Myanmar after Bagan. The most of temples were built with sand stones, bricks like Ankor from Cambodia, Bawrawbodaw from Indonesia and south India. The Mrauk U Museum exhibits many of the archeological and cultural treasures found in the area.

You will be transferred by boat to Mrauk-U (~ 6 hr) and enjoy the river life along KALADAN river. Along the way, stop to visit at a typical village to experience their daily life.
After arriving Mrauk U, visit Shithaung Temple, the temple of 80000 Buddha images, Htokekanthein Temple, built by King Minphalaung in 1571 A.D, Andawthein Temple, Yadanapone Pagoda, Laymyatnar Temple.

The Shitthaung temple is the most spectacular and most outstanding temple, was built by King Min Bing in 1535 A.D. Shitthaung temple is like fortress-temple to celebrate his re-conquest of 12 Bengal cities. One of the Grandest of all Mrauk U’s monuments and art displayed in its construction and ornamentation are remarkable. The stone inner corridors are well natural lit and good ventilation. It was constructed solid sandstone and like “rock cave tunnel” with 5 inner passageways containing scores of Main Buddha image. The shrine is said to encase 84, 000 holy relics of the Blessed one and it dedicated to the 84, 000 future Buddhas.

End the day by admiring a sunset at Haridaung Hill.

Day 3MRAUK U – CHIN VILLAGE – MRAUK U (BY BOAT)

After the breakfast, drive to the jetty and boat trip Chin tribal villages, along the Lay Myo River where you will see scenic views and be in the midst of natural beauty.
After arriving in the typical village, you will observe the way of life of Chin ethnic and see the amazing tattooed faces of local Chin ladies.
Passing through the small creeks and beautiful betel-nut plantation farms and villages.
Return to Mrauk U.

Day 4MRAUK U – SITTWE (BY BOAT)

After the breakfast, visit the famous picturesque Pay Si pagoda to see five seated Buddha Images, the 16th century Rakhine style Kothaung temple, known for its 90,000 Buddhas, Min Kaung Shwe Gu stupa, well-known for its sandstone carvings and the old palace excavation site of Sakya-Man-Aung, a tall attenuated stupa guarded by two remarkable protectors.

It was built in 1553 A.D by King Min Taikkha, the son of King Min Bin who built the Shitthaung. This outstanding temple is in the east of Mrauk U and is the biggest in size among the pagodas in the Mrauk-U area. The pagoda was built of massive stone walls and terraces and contains also bricks. There are 108 smaller pagodas surrounding it, all made of sandstone on the terraces. The entrance of the pagoda is in the east leading to a long vaulted passage which spirals round the tiers until it reaches the central chamber as rock cave-tunnel. Around the passage on the walls little hundreds Buddha images and many bigger seated Buddha images. At the mid of pagoda stands main Stupa with sand stone but the original was disappeared and rebuilt last about 20 years ago. This huge temple was built within 6 months that was not enough time to collect the require numbers of blocks of stone, makes inferior in quality as well as workmanship compared to Shitthaung temple.

You will be transferred to Mrauk U Jetty to board in return boat trip to Sittwe.
Visit the hundred-year-old Shwe Zedi Kyaung, a famous Theravada Buddhist monastery in Sittwe.

Day 5SITTWE – YANGON (DEPARTURE)

After the breakfast, an awaiting car will take you to the airport for the flight to Yangon.
You will be transferred to the international departure for your farewell.
